Capcom announced that the period for transfer negotiations and offer presentations for player registration for Street Fighter League: Pro-JP 2026, held in Japan, began on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
This announcement aims to refresh team formation rules in line with the transition to the 2026 season, targeting player mobility and the health of the competitive environment.
A lowering of the age limit to attract young players and a loan transfer system that crosses regional barriers have begun.
Each team will build its optimal lineup based on the new regulations heading toward the opening of the next season.
Participation Age for JP League Regional Players Relaxed to Age 15 and Over
Heading toward the opening of the 2026 season, the age limit for participating in this tournament has been lowered from age 18 to age 15.
The aim of this change is to promote the recruitment of young players and prepare an environment where domestic JP League Regional Players can compete at the top level from an early stage.
Through this rule amendment, players in the junior high and high school age groups can now be active in the pro league.
On the other hand, for JP League Non-Regional Players participating from overseas, they must still be of the age recognized as an adult by the laws of their own country, as before.
Loan Transfer Regulations Newly Established Globally
Starting from the 2026 season, Loan Transfer Regulations between teams competing in leagues around the world have newly launched.
These will be introduced across all JP, US, and EUROPE regions to allow each team to freely choose players according to their own strategies while increasing player opportunities to compete.
Conditions to maintain fairness have also been set, such as requiring at least 3 out of the 4 registered players to be members belonging to their own team, and limiting the acceptance of loans from other teams to up to 1 player.
With the introduction of this innovative transfer system, diverse team building across regions is expected to accelerate in the future.
We cannot take our eyes off the movements of each team heading into the new season.
