During this period, the appearance rates for three monsters—Pink Rathian, Black Diablos, and Zinogre—increase at a certain probability, so when heading out for your first shrine visit of the year or New Year's sales, be sure to launch Monster Hunter Now and head out!
In Monster Hunter Now, you can use the AR feature to take photos of large monsters.
The Monster Hunter series features various dragons such as Elder Dragons, Wingdrakes, and Flying Wyverns, but since 2024 is the Year of the Dragon according to the Japanese zodiac, we decided to celebrate the New Year by taking pictures with the Pink Rathian!

Take Pictures with Large Monsters Using the AR Feature!
The Winter Holiday Event runs from Saturday, December 23, 2023, to Tuesday, January 8, 2024.
Pink Rathian, Black Diablos, and Zinogre will appear in forest and desert areas.
This photo shows a Pink Rathian that appeared in the forest area.
In the actual game, you would need to approach it with life-or-death resolve, but since it is in AR, you can stand right next to it and take a picture.
Standing next to it really lets you feel the true size of the Pink Rathian once again.
You can make monsters appear in your everyday scenery and take photos in various poses.
With a monster this large, you might worry about it destroying the town, but since it is in AR, there is no problem!
Everyone celebrates the New Year differently—whether staying indoors or going out for a shrine visit—but you can even make it look like you were hanging out with a monster.
To use the AR feature, tap on a large monster on the in-game field, then tap AR in the upper left corner of the hunt preparation screen to launch the AR feature, so give it a try when you find one!
Also, please note that as of September 2023, devices compatible with the AR feature include Google Pixel 4 or later, iPhone 8 or later, and Samsung Galaxy S9 or later.

The Winter Holiday Event runs until Tuesday, January 8, 2024.
Although the appearance period for the Pink Rathian has ended, Black Diablos will appear in the desert area from Monday, January 1 to January 8, 2024.
