At Saiga NAK, we use several gaming chairs.
They are used not only for gaming, but also for breaks and meetings, so we know firsthand how versatile gaming chairs are, but there is one man who complains...
The " GTRACING GT-BEE " gaming chair we use at Saiga NAK looks great and has back and lumbar support. It also has a rocking function, so what's not to like?
Let's hear what Yu-chan, a man who loves racing games, has to say.
Are gaming chairs unsuitable for racing games?
Yu-chan enjoys playing " Gran Turismo SPORT " while sitting in the gaming chair.
However, she is not satisfied.
"When I step on the pedals, the casters pull me backwards..." "When I turn the wheel, the chair turns around..."
"When I turn the steering wheel, the chair spins around and it's hard to play! "
Normally, casters and swivel functions are convenient, but they seem to become inconvenient when enjoying racing games with so-called " handicomputers " that have handles and pedals.
So we decided to buy a new cockpit for racing sims!
Easy to assemble, no tools required!
So I bought a "Playseat Challenge ".
Many cockpits for racing sims are expensive, costing 50,000 yen or 100,000 yen or more, but the "Playseat Challenge" is relatively inexpensive at just under 30,000 yen.
Moreover, it can be folded up and stored when not in use, making it perfect for the Saiga NAK office, where a variety of games are played.
Let's get to unpacking!
The contents include the seat, frame, handle base, other included auxiliary parts, and instructions.
Since it is mainly composed of pipes, it looks like all you have to do to assemble it is to insert it.
Included parts are cable ties and hook and loop fasteners. It looks like they can be used for putting together wiring.
Before assembling, read the instruction manual carefully to get an idea of the work.
The instructions are illustrated, so even those who find it difficult to visualize the work in words can rest assured.
Assemble the seat and frame. It 's super easy, just click and insert.
Wrap the hook and loop fastener attached to the seat around the frame.
The sitting posture can be adjusted depending on how tight the hook and loop fastener is wrapped.
The back contact can also be adjusted with the hook and loop fastener.
Driving position changes with body shape and height. It is very nice that there are so many adjustable points.
Attach the handlebar base from the left side.
This is also easy as you only need to insert it.
The right side is also attached, and it is almost complete.
Wrap the hook and loop fastener around the pedal base.
Loosen the hook-and-loop fastener at first so that the pedals can be mounted later.
Assembly of the "Playseat Challenge" is now complete!
Next, let's attach the handlebars and pedals!
Putting the Logitech G29 on the handle base...
Tighten the clamps.
Put the pedals in the pedal base
Tighten the hook and loop fastener.
Wires can get caught and tangled if left hanging down, so use the included cable ties to tie them together.
Considering the opening and closing of the handlebar base, it would be better to leave a little room for the wiring to crawl into the frame.
The pedal base can be adjusted forward and backward, so make sure there is plenty of room here as well and wrap the cable ties around it.
The whole set is now installed!
The racing atmosphere is in the air. It's going to be a great way to shorten your time.
Compact and portable
The Playseat Challenge features a folding function.
In combination with the Logitech G29, it can be folded this thin.
If there is enough space for one person, it can be stored there.
The seat and pedal base can be secured with the included cable ties to prevent the seat and pedal base from opening.
Convenient for standing or carrying.
Lightweight and easy to carry, making it easy to move.
It is quite nice to be able to carry it with the hanko attached, without having to remove the handlebars and pedals every time.
Adjustable to your favorite position
Let's try playing Gran Turismo SPORT using the "Playseat Challenge".
Unlocking the base of the steering wheel makes it easy to get in and out of the car.
The angle of the seat can be adjusted with the left and right hook and loop fasteners.
The red line on the back side is useful for aligning the length of the left and right sides. It is quite clever.
Adjust the position of the pedals.
In addition to Yuchan, who is 179cm tall, other members over 190cm and 159cm used the pedals, and both were able to adjust them to the right position without any problem.
The angle of the handlebars has been adjusted as well.
After checking the steering wheel and pedals to make sure they can be operated properly, it's time to hit the track!
Yu-chan was not happy with the gaming chair, but she seemed to like the Playseat Challenge a lot.
"It's so easy to play! It's 10 times more fun! She is very happy with it.
Cockpit for racing sims with excellent cost performance
This is our review of the "Playseat Challenge."
Folds up for slim storage! Adjustable seating position! And it's affordable!
The "Playseat Challenge" is the answer to all of our needs!
The "Playseat Challenge" is a racing seat that solves these problems.
Yu-chan liked it so much that she bought another one for her home!
