Xiaomi's sub-brand POCO has announced its new flagship series - the POCO F7 line. We had hands-on time with both models at the Singapore launch event on Thursday, March 27, 2025: the premium camera-equipped POCO F7 Ultra and the more affordable high-performance POCO F7 Pro.
Xiaomi POCO F7 Ultra Review

The POCO F7 Ultra packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with additional proprietary processors. Japanese pricing:
- 12GB+256GB: ¥99,800
- 16GB+512GB: ¥109,800
Remarkably affordable for this performance tier. At the launch event, it was positioned as a Galaxy S25+ competitor.

The 6.67-inch 3200×1440 display delivers stunning gaming visuals with:
• 120Hz refresh rate (up to 2,560Hz touch sampling)
• 3,200 nits peak brightness (1,800 nits typical)
• HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support
• 32MP front camera
Triple rear cameras:
• 50MP main (Light Fusion 800 sensor)
• 50MP 2.5x telephoto (with floating lens)
• 8MP ultra-wide
The 5,300mAh battery supports 120W fast charging (full charge in 34 minutes) with included adapter.
Dimensions: 160.26×74.95×8.39mm (212g). Features LiquidCool Technology 4.0 with separate cooling for chipset and camera areas, reducing chip temps by 3°C.
Runs HyperOS 2.0 (Android 15) with AI features. Though marketed as a gaming phone, it excels as a daily flagship.
Gaming enhancements include the new VisionBoost D7 co-processor for improved graphics and power efficiency.
Tested with KNIVES OUT and Genshin Impact - maintains high FPS/resolution for extended sessions. Hoping it will pair well with external controllers.
AI-powered WildBoost Optimization 4.0 manages CPU/GPU resources for sustained 120FPS gameplay and upscaled 2K rendering.
Swipe from top-left to access Game Turbo:
• Priority resource allocation
• Notification blocking
• Enhanced touch response
Per-game performance profiles can be customized.
Camera highlights:
• 50MP pixel sensor with Light Fusion 800
• First POCO 50MP telephoto camera enabling high-power floating lens
Two color options: Black (with orange camera accent) and signature POCO Yellow.
The telephoto camera's macro capability deserves special mention. With a minimum focusing distance of just 10cm, it's perfect for capturing detailed shots of figures and small objects.
Even in the dimly lit demo area at the launch event, the 50MP sensor delivered impressively bright and clear shots.
The POCO F7 Pro Holds Its Own
Let's briefly examine the POCO F7 Pro. This model features:
• Last-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset
• Identical display specs to Ultra model
• 20MP front camera
• Competitive pricing:
- 12GB+256GB: ¥69,980
- 12GB+512GB: ¥79,980
While lacking a telephoto lens (dual 50MP wide + 8MP ultra-wide only), it retains key gaming features:
• VisionBoost D7 chip
• WildBoost Optimization 4.0
Available in Black, Blue, and Silver (no Yellow option), it delivers solid gaming performance at a more accessible price point.
