As year-end roundups roll in to recap the events, releases, and trends of 2023, for us gaming fans, the announcements from the recently held "The Game Awards 2023" are definitely among the top highlights back in the spotlight.
Although Nintendo narrowly missed out on Game of the Year, gamers worldwide loved and played its titles once again this year, with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom winning "Best Action/Adventure Game" and Super Mario Bros. Wonder winning "Best Family Game."
Among them, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the first completely new entry in the Super Mario Bros. series in about 11 years. With multiplayer available to enjoy with family and friends, it's bound to entertain even more people through the year-end and New Year holidays—but there's more to look forward to outside of the main game!

The 38th MAXIMUS CUP, serving as the final one for 2023, will be a collaboration event with Super Mario Bros. Wonder titled "Super Mario Bros. Wonder Edition"!
As mentioned earlier, since the title won "Best Family Game" at "The Game Awards 2023," gamers worldwide are playing this latest entry in the Super Mario Bros. series, making an explanation of the main game virtually unnecessary.
In addition to buying the standalone game from sources like the My Nintendo Store, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers playing Tetris 99 can also redeem it using the subscriber-exclusive product, "Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers," (two games for a set price), making it a great deal! If you haven't played it yet, be sure to check it out over the year-end and New Year holidays!
For this MAXIMUS CUP as well, if you play the Tetris 99 mode during the event period and accumulate 100 event points, you'll earn the Super Mario Bros. Wonder special theme without fail.
Achieve 1st place—a "Tetris Maximus (Tet 1)"—and you'll earn 100 points in one shot to get the special theme! You'll earn 70 points for 2nd place, 50 points for 3rd place, 40 points for 4th to 10th place, 30 points for 11th to 30th place... and so on.
Even finishing in 91st to 99th place earns you 1 point, so you are guaranteed to get it if you play at least 100 times. Keep playing and don't give up!
The 38th MAXIMUS CUP, "Super Mario Bros. Wonder Edition," will run from Friday, December 15, 2023, at 4:00 PM to Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 3:59 PM!
Since this will likely be the final MAXIMUS CUP of 2023, claim that "Tet 1" victory and go out with a bang!
