"CHILL GREEN bitter & tropical" was unveiled by Kotaro Hamada, Vice President and Representative Director of HAMADA SHUZO .
As the second installment in the CHILL GREEN series, themed around "a brand that accompanies you in moments of relaxed self-expression," it was developed to offer a sweet and refreshing citrus aroma like pink grapefruit and a pleasantly bitter taste.
A New Approach to Reach New Drinkers
In December 2024, Japan's traditional sake brewing was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, which is still fresh in our minds.
However, the Japanese alcoholic beverage market continues to shrink due to a declining birthrate, aging population, and a decreasing interest in alcohol among young people.
Kotaro Hamada proudly describes shochu as "a unique distilled spirit in the world that uses diverse ingredients such as sweet potato, barley, and rice, allowing one to enjoy the flavor derived from the ingredients, and a national liquor representing Japan."
The botanical barley shochu CHILL GREEN series aims to appeal not only to those who already enjoy shochu but also to those who are indifferent or have a negative image of shochu.
It is a brand that seeks to acquire new customers.
