Since its establishment in 1951, the Japan Electronics College has established a number of Japan's first departments such as CG/Video, Games, and AI. The school has been exhibiting since the first Tokyo Game Show, and will be exhibiting for the 29th time at Tokyo Game Show 2024, setting a new record.

Here are three titles we were able to play at the booth of the Japan Electronics College!

Piloting a submarine "TENKAI

TENKAI
Saiga NAK

The first title is "TENKAI," a submarine piloting simulation game. The game requires delicate maneuvering to reach the goal by slipping between dark cliffs.

The player must navigate in the dark without scraping the submarine against the walls, which is a thrilling experience that is not easy to experience.

Handle controllers
Saiga NAK

The use of a steering wheel controller for flight simulators further enhances the immersive experience. Many of the student works are played with a regular controller, or what we call a "pad. Even the difference in control methods is easily noticeable, so there were always customers trying out the games.

The graphics were very beautiful and the atmosphere of the deep sea was well done. The quality and feel of the game was so good that it was hard to believe that it was made by a student!

SlimeOverload" with excellent character design

SlimeOverload
Saiga NAK

The second title was "SlimeOverload.

The slime swallows up enemies and objects around it that are smaller than it, and the slime you control grows in size. The player can level up by using parts of the slime's enlarged body to increase its strength, speed, and size.

I felt that this level-up system allows the user to play games and spices up what tends to be a monotonous game.

Furthermore, I was stunned to learn that this game was created in 3-4 months by a first-year student at a technical college. I was stunned to learn that this game was created in 3-4 months by a first-year student at a vocational school!

AimRacing2024" is a game of overwhelming perfection.

AimRacing2024
Saiga NAK

Last but not least, I would like to introduce "AimRacing2024. AimRacing is one of the traditional games that Japan Electronics College has been updating every year, and it is one of the highest quality student works!

The modeling of the cars and the courses on which they run were created by the students, and every detail was carefully considered. The racing chairs that visitors can try out have evolved even further, with a mechanism that allows the chairs to move in accordance with the gravity load in the game. This game is exhibited at the Tokyo Game Show every year, so if you have a chance to visit the show, I highly recommend that you try it out!

Although the games introduced here are not scheduled to be distributed, you can try them out at upcoming school festivals. If you are interested in any of these games, please visit the booth!
