Certified 3 months after release! JeSU adds "TEPPEN" to the title!

News

The Japan eSports Union (JeSU) announced the addition of "TEPPEN", a card game for smartphones by Capcom and Gungho, to the list of authorized titles for the eSports license.
This brings the total number of authorized titles by JeSU to 13.

TEPPEN" has recently been released for the Fire OS, the operating system for Fire tablets sold by Amazon, but the JeSU website only lists it as iOS/Android, so it is possible that the Fire OS version of TEPPEN is not a certified title. Please note that TEPPEN for Fire OS may not be included in the certified titles.

JeSU was established in 2018 and issues JeSU-approved professional licenses for e-sports players for a fee.

Now that "TEPPEN" is a JeSU-certified title, "TEPPEN" players will be able to obtain a professional license and proudly call themselves professional gamers or professional e-sports players.

Certified just 3 months after its release!

The certification of TEPPEN World Championships in just 3 months after its release was an amazingly quick certification, but JeSU clearly states the conditions for certification as follows.

Based on the IP holder's application, JeSU recognizes JeSU-approved titles based on the title's competitiveness, operational and sales performance, and future tournament schedule.

JeSU

"TEPPEN" was certified only 3 months after its release, but it has been downloaded 21 million times around the world, and its operations, sales, and competition schedule are perfect.

Capcom and GungHo are both amazing for this achievement, but JeSU should also be commended for their speedy approval.

Incidentally, the news site "Netorabo", operated by IT Media Corporation, a Softbank group company, sent questions to JeSU regarding prize money and licensing on the same day in September, but has not received an answer even after two months. JeSU is currently working on a letter explaining the licensing system.

However, the JeSU Tokyo Section Secretary General stated that JeSU does not make decisions on whether or not prize money is paid in full or reduced, etc., and that it is up to the organizers and manufacturers to make their own decisions.
