Monster Election Results for the 20th Anniversary of MONKHAN! Voting for the second round has started!

News

On Monday, March 11, 2024, the "Monster Hunter" series celebrates its 20th anniversary. Congratulations! The results of the " Monster General Election," a commemorative project held during this milestone year, have been announced! Here is the ranking of all 229 monsters.

The results of the Monster General Election have been announced!

The "Monster General Election" was held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the "Monster Hunter" series. What is your top choice?

No. 1: Jin'oga

The "Jin'oga," which first appeared as the signature monster in the PlayStation Portable title "Monster Hunter Freedom 3," took first place! Known as the "Thunder Wolf Dragon," its unique attack style and gimmick using the super electric lightning bug are also reasons for its popularity.

Mr. Ichise, the director in charge of the Monster Hunter series, cites it as "the most difficult monster to create" and says that it took about two years to develop. It also appears in the latest "Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak," so we can expect to see more of it in the future.

No. 2: Nergigante

The "Nergigante" first appeared as the signature monster of "Monster Hunter: World." Based on the concept of "destruction and rebirth," it has gained popularity as a symbol of the monster ecosystem, where the weak are the strong and the strong are the weak. It was popular for its "destruction and rebirth" concept.

The special individual "Nergigante," which destroys everything, also ranked in at No. 9.

No. 3: Ragiacrus

The Ragiacrus made its first appearance as the signature monster of "Monster Hunter 3 (Tri)," the first game in the series to feature underwater combat. While it is a threat to hunters on the ground, it is even quicker and more powerful underwater.

Although it has appeared in the series after underwater battles were eliminated, it last appeared in "Monster Hunter Double Cross" released in 2017. It is proof of the popularity of this monster that it ranks in third place despite not having been in battle for some time.

Here are the monsters at the bottom of the ranking. Gaiadhelm, the last boss of "Monster Hunter Rise: Sun Break," is ranked 141st. I think Chanagable, Dosfango, and Haplebokka are doing rather well, but am I the only one who thinks so?

  • No.227: Dosuios
  • No. 228: Alcertus
  • No. 228: Uragankin

In this kind of poll, monsters that are unpopular and teased tend to get more votes than those that are not. The monster that did not receive any votes was decided to be the "Uraganquin subspecies! Compared to the regular Uragankin, there are no major ecological changes, and the "Uragankin subspecies" is a purely enhanced version. The stink gas that renders recovery items useless is a nasty attack that can wipe out the party. Congratulations to the "Uragankin subspecies! (???)
