Riatt Games, creator of " League of Legends " and " VALORANT," and Ubisoft, creator of "Rainbow Six Siege. Both companies develop and operate highly competitive online competitive games, but often the problem is bad communication between players. Sometimes in the pursuit of victory, sometimes to relieve accumulated stress, offensive remarks (chat) directed at other players are not tolerated.

The primary goal of the technology partnership between RIAT Games and Ubisoft is to push the limits of both companies' AI solutions to detect and curb offensive language and behavior. The two companies will explore ways to collaborate within the industry and build on their technological foundation through the "Zero Harm in Comms" research project.

Initial lessons learned will be shared with the industry as a whole by the end of 2023.

Riatt Games and Ubisoft are both members of the Fair Play Alliance. By leveraging the various content from the two companies, the database will cover all types of players and what they say and do in games. The "Zero Harm in Comms" research project is one step in an ambitious joint industry plan to benefit the entire player community, with a commitment to share the learnings of the early experiments with the industry as a whole, whatever the outcome by the end of 2023. We are committed to sharing the learnings of our early experiments with the industry as a whole, regardless of the outcome, by the end of 2023.

While we view player misbehavior as a very serious issue, we also recognize that it is an extremely difficult one to solve. We are working on concrete measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. As designers of gaming environments that are directly connected to our community, through this technology partnership with Ryatt Games, we will be looking for ways to further eliminate malicious behavior in our games.
