On Tuesday, March 17, 2025, the gameplay trailer for Alex, who will join Street Fighter 6 (hereinafter referred to as SF6) as the third Year 3 additional character, was released.
In the trailer, Alex overwhelms his opponents with throwing techniques that make use of his powerful muscles.
Alex Joins SF6!
Alex, who originally appeared as the protagonist of Street Fighter III: New Generation, is coming to SF6.
Having challenged countless street fights throughout his past, he is currently building a career as a professional wrestler and is always waiting for an opportunity to fight.
Alex Character Introduction
Accumulating a wealth of experience and intense training, Alex utilizes techniques that fascinate viewers, such as a menacing new stance, over 10 total variations of throwing moves, and a wide variety of attack routes that lead to other moves.
Furthermore, Alex is not a charge character in this title, providing a slightly different control feel than before.
Alex Move Introduction

First, we introduce Flash Axe and Flash Chop, which are so fast they blur the eyes.
Flash Axe is a move that can be unleashed with the Hadoken command input using Light Punch or Medium Punch.
The Light version is ideal for finishing combos and cannot be counterattacked even if guarded, while the Medium version can transition into Prowler Stance upon hitting.

Flash Chop is a move unleashed with the Hadoken command input plus Heavy Punch.
It is a grand move that, when hitting a grounded opponent, breaks their posture and induces a back-turn hit, which can be followed up by Power Bomb or Oblique Stomp to deal heavy damage.
Also, because Flash Chop allows you to move before the opponent even if guarded, a characteristic of the OD version is that it can transition into Prowler Stance upon hitting.
Aerial Knee Smash is a powerful anti-air move that slams the opponent to the ground with a knee while jumping up.
While the Light and Medium versions do not hit opponents on the ground, their startup is fast.
On the other hand, the Heavy version is slightly less suited for anti-air but can be incorporated into combos because it also hits grounded opponents.
The OD version has a fast startup and causes a forced knockdown on hit, making it easy to continue the offense under advantageous circumstances.
It is a versatile attack move that applies pressure depending on the situation.

Power Bomb is a special move that serves as Alex's signature.
It is effective as a means to break guards at close range.
While there is no difference in damage based on button strength, the startup and throw range change; the Light version has the longest reach, the Heavy version has the fastest startup, and the Medium version is well-balanced.

As a unique feature of Power Bomb, if you grab the opponent from behind following a successful Flash Chop or similar move, the attack changes to Power Drop.
This allows you to deal heavy damage while swapping positions with the opponent.
Furthermore, in the OD version, if you continue to input forward when grabbing the opponent from behind, it transitions to Hyper Bomb, allowing you to throw them in any direction.
Use Alex's powerful throwing moves to keep enemies off-balance.

Alex's Prowler Stance, a new addition for this title, is also noteworthy.
He takes a stance by crouching on the spot, putting the opponent on high alert.
During this motion, Alex cannot guard, but it is an aggressive combat style that can lead to 11 types of derivative moves.
We will introduce some of those moves below.

Inputting Heavy Punch from Prowler Stance activates the reliable Heavy Lariat.
Surprisingly, you can gain an advantage even if the move is guarded, and armor is granted when the button is held.
It also induces a back-turn hit upon a counter-hit.

Inputting Light Kick leads into Tactical Hop, where he jumps quickly.
From there, any aerial attack is possible.
Inputting Medium Kick activates Air Stampede, which is a stomping attack performed by diving after the jump.

Furthermore, if you land Sweep Combination (Target Combo), Hyper Takedown (Throw), or Dangerous Armbar (Throw) from Prowler Stance as a Punish Counter, they change into Flying Souplex, Death Valley Bomb, and Spiral DDT respectively.
Master Prowler Stance to toy with your enemies.
Alex Super Arts Introduction

The Level 1 Super Art Raging Spear delivers an intense tackle from a crouching state.
This move has invincibility against strikes and throws at startup, and it is highly effective when incorporated into combos.

The Level 2 Super Art Sledgecross Hammer crushes the opponent with an intense lariat while moving forward.
This move is very powerful as a countermeasure against projectiles and will blow the opponent to the wall upon hitting in the air.

Furthermore, Alex has another Level 2 Super Art.
If you succeed with the OD version of Power Drop, it transitions into Omega Wing Buster!
This special feature utilized motion-capture from professional wrestling superstar Kenny Omega for some of Alex's movements.
The Level 3 Super Art The Final Prison is a technique that stuns the opponent with a Flash Chop before subjecting them to a series of astounding grappling moves.
It is effective when used during close-range exchanges and provides great entertainment for the audience.
Alex Outfit 2
The familiar green overalls and red bandana from Street Fighter III are used for Alex's Outfit 2.
This can be obtained by maximizing your bond with Alex in World Tour or by purchasing it from the Shop with Fighter Coins.
In addition to being available via Fighter Coins, Alex is released for those who possess the Year 3 Character Pass or Year 3 Ultimate Pass.
