ZETA DIVISION, a professional e-sports team, announced that it will begin joint research with the Nakazawa Laboratory, Department of Life and Environmental Sciences, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo on April 1, 2026. They will conduct empirical research to scientifically verify and extend the limits of human reflexes, etc., with the aim of improving the performance and extending the lifespan of professional e-sports players.

ZETA DIVISION and the Nakazawa Laboratory at the University of Tokyo have announced the start of a joint research project. The aim is to improve the performance and extend the lifespan of professional e-sports players.

The top-level environment of e-sports requires advanced reaction speed and cognitive processing. These can sometimes take a physical, psychological, and neurophysiological toll on the athlete.

Aiming to break through such challenges and create an environment where players can maintain high performance for as long as a day, this study will deal with the following topics.

• Performance analysis based on neural and motor function data
• Visualization of "reproducibility and stability" of performance
• Scientific optimization of conditioning and training methods
• Development of a long-term physical, psychological, and neurological management model with a view to extending the life of the athlete

Furthermore, the results of this research will be applied not only to e-sports but also to physical sports.
