PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Japanese-only for Japan will be released on November 21, 2012! Price: 55,000 yen (including tax)

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that the new PS5 "PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Japanese-only" will be available for pre-order in Japan. Pre-orders will be available at PlayStation retailers and e-commerce sites in Japan from November 13, 2025 (Thu.) at 10:00 a.m., and will be released on November 21, 2025 (Fri.).

PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Japanese-only is a new model that retains the PS5's basic features such as ultra-fast SSD, 3D audio, and DualSense wireless controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, while customizing some of the specifications for the Japanese market. The new model has been customized for the Japanese market. The PS5 is available only in Japanese, and can only be used with a PlayStation account whose country/region is "Japan". It is backward compatible with PS4, allowing users to enjoy a wide range of titles.

This model is only available in a digital edition without a disc drive and comes with 825GB of SSD storage. It can play downloadable PS5 and PS4 titles purchased from the PlayStation Store, as well as packaged games by installing a disc drive (sold separately). The design has been partially redesigned from the existing model, with a matte texture on the body and cover.

The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Japanese-only will be priced at 55,000 yen (tax included). The price is approximately 18,000 yen less than the existing "PS5 Digital Edition" model. Pre-orders will be accepted at PlayStation retailers and e-commerce sites in Japan from November 13, 2025 (Thu.) at 10:00 a.m., and the PS5 will be released on November 21, 2025 (Fri.).
