Lenovo announced "Legion Go S," a new product from its gaming device brand "Legion," at CES 2025, held in Las Vegas in January 2025.
It is a variant of the portable gaming machine "Legion Go," which was released in 2024.
Its most notable feature is a design change: the detachable left and right gamepads from the "Legion Go" are now integrated into the main unit.

The "Legion Go S" will be available in two models based on their operating systems.
The white model runs Windows 11, while the model that appears black is actually a deep purple (Nebula Violet) and runs SteamOS.
This SteamOS-equipped model is said to be the first of its kind outside of Valve Corporation's portable machine "Steam Deck," which developed the OS.
The Windows 11 model is priced at $729.99, and a $599.99 model with different performance specifications will also be available.
The SteamOS model, on the other hand, comes in at a very aggressive price of $499.99.

The basic specifications include an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
The specs are downgraded from the Legion Go's 8.8-inch, 2560 x 1600 pixel display.
It will be available with two processor options: AMD's "Ryzen Z2 Go" and "Ryzen Z1 Extreme."
It has 32GB of memory (7500MHz LPDDR5X) and up to 1TB of storage (PCIe SSD).
The battery capacity is 55.5Wh.

I played a few demo games and found it to be as comfortable to hold and play games on as the original Legion Go.
The device measures 229 x 127.55 x 22.6mm and weighs 730g.
It's also a bit smaller than the Legion Go, which I think makes it more portable.

As it's a Windows model, it can also display the standard Windows 11 desktop.
