The Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association (CESA) will kick off the " Tokyo Game Show 2026 " on Thursday, September 17, 2026!
The event will run for a record-breaking five days, featuring a record-high 1,138 companies and organizations from 53 countries and regions.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, the “Tokyo Game Show 2026” will be held from Thursday, September 17, 2026, through Monday, September 21, 2026 (a national holiday) at Makuhari Messe and other venues.
The five-day event is the longest in the history of the Tokyo Game Show.

A total of 1,138 companies and organizations will be exhibiting—540 from Japan and 598 from overseas.
There will be 3,999 exhibition booths, with companies and organizations gathering from 53 countries and regions around the world.

CESA Chairman Haruhiro Tsujimoto Delivers Remarks

At the opening ceremony held prior to the event’s start, Haruhiro Tsujimoto, Chairman of the Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association (CESA), delivered a speech.
He expressed his gratitude to exhibitors, industry professionals, the media, and game fans, and looked back on the history of the Tokyo Game Show, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary since its inaugural event in 1996.

In 2026, the event will add one more day open to the public, marking the first time in Tokyo Game Show history that it will run for five days.
He explained that the goal is to create a venue that fosters better connections for both exhibitors, who deliver games, and visitors, who experience them.

He also stated that the event would focus on nurturing the next generation of creators, expanding overseas, and supporting indie games, declaring that the 30th anniversary would serve as a fresh start for the next 30 years.
He called on attendees to experience the present and future of the gaming industry throughout the five-day event.

Toshiya Miyata ( @t_miyata_kmf2 ), an official supporter of the Tokyo Game Show 2026, also took the stage at the opening ceremony.
He shared that he still remembers the games he played with his family as a child and reflected on how those games helped forge family bonds.

Addressing families and adults who love games, he mentioned the 30th anniversary and the event’s record-breaking five-day run, saying, “I hope you’ll join me in making the most of this Tokyo Game Show.”
