Kumamon Island, a stage set in Kumamoto within the world of Fortnite, will launch on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
As a new initiative to allow many people to experience the charms of the prefecture, Kumamoto Prefecture collaborated with CyberAgent, Inc. to release a Kumamoto map built in the metaverse.
The game's story unfolds around major tourist destinations in the prefecture, such as Kumamoto Castle and Mount Aso, and Kumamon, who serves as the prefecture's Sales Manager and Happiness Manager, will appear in Fortnite as a key character.

The newly created Kumamon Island is a business simulation game, known in the gaming industry as a "tycoon."
The story is set on Kumamon Island, where multiple Kumamons, born naturally from the charms of Kumamoto, live in harmony. To spread Kumamoto's appeal to the entire world, the Kumamons embark on a top-secret project to construct a Giant Kumamon Robot, the culmination of cutting-edge technology. However, various problems arise during the process, leading them to ask players for cooperation suddenly.
