The other day, we were welcomed with a pleasant surprise from SNK, who announced their new Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro.
All we knew was that it looked like an arcade stick, and not much other information was shared at that time, but we've got new info now straight from the horse's mouth!
Connectors and Buttons Galore!
The picture SNK shared with us this time showed the off the whole system.
Like a regular arcade joystick, it has the buttons, of course. It also has a mode switch and platform switch, and includes an HDMI port and USB port. Players can also plug in a Neo Geo mini game pad into the system as well!
Joystick Mode
Players can use the Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro as an arcade stick by plugging it into a Neo Geo Mini or even a PC, which we didn't see coming.
This gives players a lot more room in the way they play games, by not just restricting them to the mini's small game controllers or the standard came controllers.
Console Mode
The Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro will also be able to connect to a TV or monitor of the player's choice and use games that are included in the system, allowing the player to play popular Neo Geo fighting games. Twenty games are scheduled to be included in the system.
The system will also allow the player to alter button mapping.
On top of these settings, players can also connect Neo Geo Mini Pad Controllers or even another Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro for 2-player action!
More Information On The Way
We're still waiting for a release date and price of the Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro, but details are bound to be released in the near future, along with what titles will be included in the system.
The device comes in at a length of around 16in, height of 8.5in, and depth of around 5in, which is very similar to other Arcade Joysticks, allowing players to use the controller comfortably for PC games.
