As part of this effort, they announced that they will grant subsidies to businesses that organize large-scale eSports tournaments.
As long as the conditions are met, tournaments are eligible regardless of whether they are international, national, regional, or student tournaments.
Furthermore, if multiple businesses collaborate to implement a project, one representative business must be selected, and the application must be submitted by that representative business.

Eligible tournaments include eSports competition tournaments as follows:
- An expected offline audience of 1,000 or more people per day
- An expected total offline audience of 3,000 or more people during the event period
Organizers of Large-Scale eSports Tournaments Eligible for Subsidies
Subsidies are available to the following organizers:
- Private companies such as game-related companies, organizations such as incorporated associations, educational institutions, executive committees, etc.
- Those who do not fall under any of Article 2, Paragraph 2, Items (a) through (c) of the Osaka Prefecture Subsidy Grant Rules (1970 Osaka Prefecture Rule No. 85)
Eligible Expenses
The subsidy covers various costs, including:
- Usage fees paid to event venues, etc. (including usage fees for renting the venue, utility costs, and usage fees for incidental facilities, etc.)
- Equipment costs (limited to rentals and leases)
- Expenses related to construction (excluding parts related to the construction of the venue facilities themselves such as video, audio, lighting equipment, and communication environment preparation)
The eligible expenses are those related to venue setup, move-in, rehearsals, the day of the event, venue breakdown, and move-out.
Subsidy Rate and Subsidy Amount
The grant details are as follows:
- Subsidy Rate: Within one-half of the eligible expenses
- Maximum Subsidy Amount: Up to 30 million yen per case
The subsidy amount will be granted within the scope of the budget, and because the subsidy amount is determined after an examination, it may not match the applied amount.
Project Implementation Period
The schedule for the projects is as follows:
- Large-scale eSports tournaments held during fiscal year 2026
However, projects spanning multiple fiscal years are not eligible.
A performance report must be submitted by whichever is earlier: within 30 days after the completion of the project or Saturday, April 10, 2027.
Application Period
Applications must be submitted within the following window:
- Documents must arrive between Wednesday, April 15, 2026 and 5:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2026
