I bought the ASUS RT-AC3200 and opened it for a quick review!

Review

I wrote an article about a strong and spiky(?) router from ASUS before. This time, we introduced its successor, " RT-AC3200 ", so we had an opening ceremony right away!

Tri-band" as written on the package seems to be the selling point of this product.
What is "tri-band"? (I am a designer who is not familiar with this kind of thing...)

I wondered what a tri-band was, but it seems to mean that a total of three bands can be used: two 5GHz and one 2.4GHz band.
This is effective when there are many terminals connected, by avoiding interference from each of them!

It is also recommended for use in offices where a wide range of communication and multiple terminals are connected at the same time.

The product is also equipped with "Smart Connect Technology," which automatically switches to the 2.4GHz band when it determines that the connection speed is faster in the 2.4GHz band, even if the connection is in the 5GHz band.

Antenna, AC adapter, and user manual were included in the package.
The bundled items are really simple these days, aren't they?

Main body of the router

Now, the appearance of the router, there is one antenna connection on each side, which was not on the previous "RT-AC87U" routers.
By plugging in the antennas here, a total of six antennas are mounted, including those on the rear side.

There is one USB 2.0 port, one WAN port, four LAN ports, a power port, and buttons for the power switch, reset button, and WPS button.
There is no change from the previous model.

When I plugged in the antenna, two antennas were added, and it looks obviously cool....
If you think "Oh, this looks like something I've seen before...", it is the funnel of Hi-ν Gundam or Providence Gundam.

Reverse side. How cool.... A design that would make elementary school boys cry with joy.

The Ruta brothers side by side.
There is no big design change in the body part without antennas (although the legs are a few millimeters higher, probably due to heat exhaust problems), but the impression is very different when the number of antennas is different.

Summary

The previous "RT-AC87U" was used for guest Wi-Fi in Fangler's office space, where we have a part of the office open to the public as a work space.
Incidentally, there are rumors that the guest connection is faster because there are far fewer connections...lol.

So we decided to use this as Fangler's main Wi-Fi for a while.
Let's see how much the performance will change when we actually connect multiple devices...!
