Lenovo presented the new " Legion Go S " under the "Legion" brand of gaming devices at CES 2025 in Las M. Bizons in January 2025. It is a variant of the "Legion Go" portable gaming machine launched in 2024. The main feature of the new model is a change in the design of the console: the left and right gamepads, which were detachable on the Legion Go, are now integrated into the console.

The "Legion Go S" will be available in two models, depending on the operating system. The white model will run Windows 11 OS, while the black model will run "SteamOS" in deep purple (Nebula Violet). This is the first SteamOS model other than Valve Corporation's Steam Deck portable machine, which developed the OS. The Windows 11 model will be priced at $729.99, and a $599.99 model with different performance will follow. The SteamOS model will be priced at $499.99, a rather aggressive price.

The basic specs include an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. This is down from the 8.8-inch, 2560 x 1600 pixels of the Legion Go. Two types of processors will be available: AMD's Ryzen Z2 Go and Ryzen Z1 Extreme. The memory is 32 GB (7500 MHz LPDDR5X) and the storage is up to 1 TB (PCIe SSD). The battery is 55.5W.

We played some demo games and found it as easy to hold and comfortable to play games as the original Legion Go. The unit measures 229 x 127.55 x 22.6mm and weighs 730g. It is also smaller than the Legion Go, making it easy to carry around.
