Suddenly, I got my hands on an energy drink from Hong Kong.
Saiga NAK is reviewing various energy drinks from around the world as part of its globalization efforts.
This time, we're introducing a product called "Lucozade Energy" from the Frucor Group!
I know what you're all thinking: "What is this stuff?"
"I don't know either!!!"
Since its existence is a mystery, I'll break it down and introduce it to you one by one!
What Kind of Drink is "Lucozade Energy"?

"Lucozade Energy" is an energy drink with overwhelming recognition in the UK, and the original flavor is said to be particularly popular!
Given the strong historical ties between Hong Kong and the UK, it makes sense that British products would be sold there.
An overseas energy drink...
What exactly is in it...?
I'm sure what everyone is most concerned about: "Isn't there something sketchy in it?"
I have no idea either!
I'm going to put myself on the line and drink it this time!
What is the Frucor Group?
The Frucor Group is the second-largest soft drink manufacturer in New Zealand.
However, Suntory acquired it in 2008, and it became a Suntory brand.

"Lucozade Energy" Taste Test Review!!

First, I'm going to try the Low Sugar Orange flavor.
When I pop it open, I smell a sweet, citrusy scent!

What does it taste like...?

"Huh!?"
"It's more refreshing than I thought!!!"
I had an image of overseas energy drinks having strong flavors, but I was surprised that it tasted like something that would normally be sold in Japan.
The taste is more lemony than orange, with a strong tartness, but the sweet smell balances it out nicely.
And since it's highly carbonated, I thought it was the perfect energy drink for when you want to refresh your mouth!
I could chug this down easily.
Next is the Orange flavor

I'm looking forward to seeing how it compares to the Low Sugar Orange flavor.

It's not as sweet as I expected...!?
"Lucozade Energy" keeps shattering my prejudices.
The taste was that of a familiar orange carbonated drink, like Fanta Orange.
However, the sweetness isn't cloying, and it's easy to drink, so I can drink it without any resistance.
The orange flavor was stronger in both smell and taste than the Low Sugar Orange!
The last flavor is the most intriguing: Original!

I've reviewed "Low Sugar Orange" and "Orange," which are flavors I could imagine, but for me, "who doesn't know the original of the original flavor," this is truly a mysterious beverage.
What does it taste like...?

"!?"

"This is IT!!!"
This is what I've been waiting for.
I'm so hyped by this truly unprecedented, novel flavor.
The smell is truly indescribable; if I had to put a positive spin on it, I'd say it's "a mix of woody and citrusy notes."
If I had to put a negative spin on it, I'd say it's "the smell of bathroom cleaner"! What even is this!!!

But this... the taste seems similar to the Low Sugar Orange...? (I shouldn't say any more)
The hugely popular Original flavor is definitely my overall #1 for many reasons, including the "impact when you put it in your mouth," "the strong uniqueness of the flavor," and "the profoundness of the taste"!
When You Go to Hong Kong, Look for "Lucozade Energy"!

The sweetness comparison would be "Orange >>> Low Sugar Orange > Original."
Even though the Original contains sugar, I don't taste much sweetness, which makes me feel less guilty drinking it and somehow like I got a good deal.
Also, the unfamiliar Original flavor allows you to experience the differences in overseas taste culture, so I highly recommend it to those who are looking for a thrill.
Saiga NAK will continue to review energy drinks from overseas, so please look forward to it!
