"Pragmata" Father’s Day Special Event Report!

The event was hosted by the familiar e-sports caster, Kosuke Hiraiwa ( @kouhiraiwa777 ).

From the development team, Producer Naoto Oyama and...

Director Yong-hee Cho took the stage.

The two shared the behind-the-scenes stories of how Hugh and Diana came to be, as well as the appeal of “Pragmata.”

In addition, a top-secret video titled “The History of PRAGMATA’s Development,” which looks back on the game’s challenging development process, has been released.
Although it was originally created for an internal development celebration and has since been edited, it’s quite catchy.
Be sure to check it out starting around the 24:09 mark in the live stream archive.
The two voice actors made an appearance alongside the staged reading!

And here, the reading drama “What Is Father’s Day?” begins.
Mio Tanaka ( @Mio_T_Haiyuza ) as Hugh Williams.

Nao Higashiyama ( @naobou_official ), who played Diana, took the stage!

Both said they were nervous about the banter between Hugh and Diana, characters they hadn’t played in a while.
It seems Ms. Higashiyama visited Ms. Tanaka’s dressing room before her scene to help her relax.
Saiga NAK
Ms. Tanaka wore a “Pragmata” T-shirt, while Ms. Higashiyama wore a blue-based outfit befitting Diana.

Regarding their character development, Tanaka revealed that she visited a space center to imagine how Hugh must have felt after being left behind alone.
Higashiyama, on the other hand, said she focused on portraying the natural essence of the young Diana —without making her too cute or too contrived.
The second reading performance also

...And with that, they performed today’s second reading drama, “What Do You Want?”
Be sure to check out the powerful performances by Tanaka and Higashiyama starting around the 56:42 mark in the live stream archive.

And ahead of the upcoming Father’s Day, Ms. Higashiyama presented Ms. Tanaka with an original “Pragmata” cushion as a gift.

They received “Pragmata” T-shirts.
"Memories Are You" Music Video Released
We also received a video message from Yukayu ( @yukayu_ka79 ), who sang “Memories Are You,” the ending theme for “Pragmata.”
Plus, the official music video is being released for the first time!
It’s an original production featuring scenes that can’t be captured during normal gameplay.

For those who have completed the story, the numerous scenes that make you think, “Oh, this is…,” brought tears to the eyes of both Mr. Tanaka and Mr. Higashiyama.
Director Zhao also mentioned it was his first time seeing it, and the entire venue was filled with tears.
A Message from Tanaka
Saiga NAKThank you so much to all the players who have enjoyed the game.
Every single member of the cast and staff poured their hearts into creating this game, so we truly hope as many people as possible will give it a try.
We look forward to your continued support for “Pragmata.”
A Message from Mr. Higashiyama
Saiga NAKThank you so much for coming today and for watching.
Ever since we were recording, I’ve thought, “What an interesting and wonderful game this is,” but actually seeing so many people play it and enjoy it has made me feel incredibly happy.
When people who haven’t played it yet ask me, “What makes *Pragmata* so fun?” I often talk about it from Diana’s perspective. The dialogue that arises from the dynamic between a girl and an android is really entertaining, and the mismatched conversations between humans and androids—which you can only experience in *Pragmata*—are so cute and heartwarming.
For example, when they talk about birthdays, she asks, “Why do humans celebrate when they’re just deteriorating?” It really hits you right in the feels (laughs).
The game is packed with elements that make you think, “This is so *Pragmata*!” so I’d be thrilled if lots of people could experience that sense of wonder.
Thank you for your continued support!
A Message from Director Zhao
Saiga NAKWe’re all so grateful that “Pragmata” has been enjoyed not only by fans in Japan but by people all over the world.
The game has scenes that will make you laugh, as well as scenes that will bring tears to your eyes.
Seeing everyone who played the game cry and laugh moved our team deeply.
We look forward to your continued support for “Pragmata.”
A Message from Producer Oyama
Saiga NAKThank you to everyone who came to the venue, everyone watching the livestream, and everyone involved.
The entire development team would like to express our gratitude that 2 million people have played "Pragmata."
We hope you’ll continue to enjoy “Pragmata” for a long time to come, including our upcoming merchandise releases.
Also, since Father’s Day is this Sunday, we’d be delighted if this event serves as an opportunity for you to express your gratitude to your fathers and those who support you every day.
Thank you very much for joining us today.

Capcom’s all-new IP, “Pragmata,” has surpassed 2 million copies sold in just 16 days since its release.
We’re already receiving requests from around the world for a sequel or additional story content, but no details regarding future developments have been announced yet.
However, since this is a completely new IP that achieved such success after a difficult launch, isn’t it fair to have at least some expectations for what’s to come!?
Don’t forget to follow the official “PRAGMATA” X account ( @PRAGMATA_JP ) to get the latest updates!
