The " Tokyo Game Show 2026 (TGS2026)," a gaming festival, was held over four days from Thursday, September 17, 2026, through Sunday, September 20, 2026.

A Report on the "KONAMI" Booth! They Really Went All Out This Year

We went behind the scenes at the "KONAMI" booth—one of the TGS’s regular exhibitors!
With many series celebrating milestone anniversaries this year, they’re putting even more effort into it than usual.

When it comes to TGS, it’s all about the hands-on demos!
Of course, there were highly anticipated titles like “Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX.”
This year, various companies exhibited side by side as “Partner Titles.”
In total, we were able to try out nearly 30 games.

One of the most popular attractions was the “Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse” demo area, featuring a castle-themed exterior.
It was so popular that the area for distributing numbered tickets was set up quite a distance away from the castle itself.

The interior of the demo area was also incredibly elaborate—it truly felt like the inside of Castlevania.
In particular, the Death statue was so massive that it was impossible to take a close-up photo of it.

Right next to the demo area, there was a photo spot modeled after Count Dracula’s throne.
I was actually able to sit on it and take a picture.

Plus, at certain times, incredibly high-quality cosplayers appeared—it was as if they’d stepped right out of the game screen!
I remember being so blown away by the sheer intensity that I actually recoiled while taking photos.

This year’s exhibition featured an incredibly wide variety of exhibits!

2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the hidden command “↑↑↓↓←→←→BA” (commonly known as the “Konami Code”) first appearing in *Gradius*.
In addition, since many other IPs were celebrating anniversaries at the same time, a massive exhibition area had been set up.

Castlevania 40th Anniversary

Castlevania was featured here as well, in addition to offering hands-on demos of the new title.
Main visuals from past titles were on display.

In particular, "Castlevania (X68000 Version)" and "Castlevania X: Symphony of the Night"—which are indispensable when discussing the Castlevania series—are on display, along with their concept art and other materials.
Even the handwritten notes have been preserved as-is.
This is just too precious...!

Power Pro Success 30th Anniversary

"Success," the classic mode of "Powerful Pro Baseball" (known as "Power Pro"), celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
Key titles from the series were highlighted, with package art and screenshots on display.

Ganbare Goemon 40th Anniversary

To mark its 40th anniversary, a "Ganbare Goemon" collection was released, showcasing a lineup of all the series’ past game covers.
If you look closely, you’ll see that the Nintendo DS version was the title released immediately before this year’s new release.
We’re looking forward to this brand-new Goemon game—especially since the series’ history was once interrupted.

There’s also a photo spot set up where Goemon fans can try the memorable “Bungee Sword Grab.”
Given that it’s based on a mini-game, the resulting photos are a bit surreal.

Suikoden 30th Anniversary

*Suikoden*, whose remaster released last year became a hot topic, is also celebrating its 30th anniversary.
While featuring *Suikoden: Star Leap*, which was just released this year, the event also displayed a series timeline.

Rhapsody in Scarlet

In addition to existing titles, there was also a special exhibition where visitors could experience the world of “Rhapsody in Scarlet,” a brand-new action game whose trailer was just released!
The 1920s New York setting of the game has been beautifully recreated.

Cosplayers will also make appearances at specific times!
It really looks just like the game’s key visual…!

Nihon Falcom: The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 2nd

Among the partner titles, a dedicated section was set aside for " The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 2nd "
There was an exhibition of merchandise released to date.

You could even take photos holding weapons from the game!
From what I saw, the sickle was the most popular choice.

Merchandise Booth

This year, there were merchandise booths set up separate from the main booth!
These booths also featured a full lineup of KONAMI’s iconic characters, with a focus on anniversary merchandise.

Among them, the prominent "Pass" character (from *Ganbare Goemon*’s "Pass") caught the attention of international visitors, who gazed at it with great interest.
