YDY CG was established in 2012 and is a graphic production company that can produce 2D graphics and 3D modeling for games on contract. We currently have 98 designers.
- What is your company's specialty, style, and appeal points?
In the 2D field, we create realistic characters, animated characters, and backgrounds. In the 3D field, we specialize in modeling and texturing characters, backgrounds, and tools.
- Where is your company located?
"YDY CG" is located in Nanjing. As the capital of Jiangsu Province, the economy, transportation, education, etc. are all relatively good.
- What are the features and attractions of your office location?
Nanjing is an important city located in Jiangsu Province, China, and has many features and attractions as a base. Its cultural center, historical heritage, concentration of educational institutions, economic center, and natural environment make it an attractive base for many people.
- How was TGS 2023?
Compared to TGS 2020 - 2022, TGS 2023 was better attended and had more exhibitors.
- What were some of the things or things that you particularly liked about TGS 2023?
In 2019, before the Corona disaster, there were 262,076 total visitors, and in 2022, there were 138,192 total visitors over the four days (the first real event in three years, with restrictions such as no admission for elementary school students and younger and no same-day ticket sales at the venue). And in 2023, the result was 243,238, and although it did not reach the 2019 total number of visitors before the Corona disaster, it was felt to be a significant recovery from the previous year +105,046 visitors.
- What do you think about the Japanese and global gaming market? Please tell us about the Japanese content you are interested in.
We have a very positive view of the gaming market. Japan has been providing the world with innovative and unique game content for decades. Japanese games are known for their deep storytelling, beautiful graphics, and creative character designs, which have a strong appeal to many players.
However, competition is also fierce, and foreign game developers are actively entering the market. It is important for the Japanese game industry to maintain its originality and high quality while also appealing to the global market.
- Please tell us about the game business and genres you are currently focusing on.
Our strength lies in our ability to produce 2D graphic and 3D modeling for games on consignment. In 2D Graphic, we create characters, background design, UI, and icons from concept. In 3D modeling, we focus on modeling, textures, rigging and motion.
- Please tell us about your company's vision and the business partners you are looking for.
We have been in business for 11 years and our current main clients are in China and Europe, and we are looking to develop Japanese clients in the future. Japanese game developers are the partners we are looking for.
