Nintendo released Update Ver. 1.6.0 for the Nintendo Switch 2 title Mario Kart World on March 30, 2026.
This update adds the new Bob-omb Blast battle rule and performance adjustments for the Bullet Bill item.
Bob-omb Blast Arrives in Mario Kart World!
Bob-omb Blast is a rule where players pop their rivals' balloons using only the Bob-omb item.
Unlike regular races or battles, players can stack up to 10 Bob-ombs at once.
You can enjoy exhilarating battles by lobbing a constant stream of explosives at your opponents.
Team Battles and Online Matches are also supported.
In the Battle mode, where you compete for online ratings, the rule is randomly selected from three options: Balloon Battle, Coin Runners, and Bob-omb Blast.
Performance Adjustments Implemented for Bullet Bill
In addition to expanding the horizontal movement range for the Bullet Bill item, an adjustment has been implemented so that it is easier to navigate shortcut routes immediately after using Bullet Bill.
When aiming for the lead from the back of the pack, you can now target even more effective comebacks by using Bullet Bill on shortcuts.
Furthermore, adjustments to Boomerang performance and an update to shorten the wait time for the course roulette in online matches have been implemented.
