Statement on Harassment Announced

The RTA in Japan management has announced a statement on harassment.

As a premise, RTA in Japan is a community event created by everyone.

It is an event built by all participants, including players, commentators, attendees, and stream viewers, not just the management and volunteer staff. Precisely because it is such an event, interaction between participants is essential for this event to be successful.

People with various backgrounds participate in RTA in Japan. Especially in recent years, the event has grown to be enjoyed by many people both at the venue and online.
In this context, mutual respect is required of all participants to ensure that more people can enjoy the event safely.

Harassment is contrary to the community spirit that the event values. We will never tolerate harassment at RTA in Japan, regardless of anyone’s position.

We will continue to respond quickly and appropriately to violations based on the event rules.

Traditionally, RTA in Japan accepted reports via oral reports to nearby staff, the violation reporting form, and private communication such as direct messages to management members.
However, existing non-onsite reporting methods had issues, such as difficulty for women to report due to the male-only management structure, so a new dedicated "RTA in Japan Event Rules Report/Consultation Form for Women" has been prepared.

The majority of event violations are reported after the fact, but prompt reporting as soon as possible after a violation occurs is strongly desired from the perspective of fact-checking and preventing further harm.
Reports are accepted through the "RTA in Japan Event Rules Report/Consultation Form" and the "RTA in Japan Event Rules Report/Consultation Form for Women".

Response to Violations at RTA in Japan

We will enforce penalties for violators and disseminate information to reduce violations, aiming to make RTA in Japan a safe space where anyone can participate without discrimination.
The detailed content of violation behavior will not be made public, as it is highly likely to lead to attacks on specific individuals beyond the scope of the objective.
Detailed reports on event rule violations and their penalties will be limited to those concerned.

Please understand this policy and refrain from making posts that lead to attacks on others or remarks that make light of violations.

RTA in Japan will continue to aim to be an event where more people can participate safely.
