A new map "Glitch" is implemented in Team Deathmatch!
With the opening of the new ACT, a new map " Glitch " has been implemented in the Team Deathmatch mode of VALORANT. Glitch" has two visual themes, and VALORANT agents will fight in a virtual arena of " glitched " Maxpoint. One side of the map is designed as " Sunset in Ruins " and the other as " Haven in Winter ". Play Team Deathmatch now and get ready to fight on a new battlefield!
Developer's comment on the new Team Deathmatch map "Glitch
Q. What was your goal with the "Glitch" map?
PR TIMESA. One of our goals when designing "Glitch" was to place a tower on one side of the map that would give us an advantage. We envisioned that this tower would be an important stronghold that both teams would fight for. On the other side of the map there is a route that is invisible from this tower, allowing players to attack the tower from different angles. We expect players to engage in fun small-scale battles over securing the tower. These map designs incorporate some elements of traditional 3-lane maps with symmetrical layouts. We also took care to widen the spawn area to prevent spawn camps. From an artistic and creative standpoint, our goal was to create a fun and playful map. It is a unique map where the unexpected happens in the story of Maxbot's Revenge. This is also the first map where we attempted to use two themes simultaneously. We pushed the limits of contrasting map themes and tried to see if we could successfully combine them with a symmetrical map design.
Q. What inspired you to design "Glitch"? What are the key concepts you want this map to convey?
PR TIMESA. From a gameplay standpoint, we took some inspiration from the classic deathmatch maps of arena shooters, which have a long history. There, we wanted to provoke intense small-scale battles between teams over the securing of towers. We also designed the map with a more open center so that players could enjoy shooting each other in the center. When building the visuals, we actually took inspiration from Fracture. Specifically, the idea was to visually divide the map in half. However, we went further and utilized other map themes to enhance the creativity of the look and feel. One side of the map is themed around an "abandoned" sunset (including distinctive signs and buildings), while the other side is themed around a "winter" haven (with beautiful architectural detail). We also took advantage of the fact that this is Maxbot's virtual arena and used skyboxes to merge the two different worlds. By taking full advantage of these elements, we were able to add cool details and even more fun Easter eggs!
