ITG Marketing Corporation, a distributor of Samsung Japan, announced today that it will begin selling a 2TB model of the 970 EVO Plus SSD, which is already available in Japan.
Faster than the existing lineup
The "970 EVO Plus" series is already available in 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB models.
The new 2TB model has the fastest read and write speeds of the existing products.
The 1TB model has a random read/write (QD32) rate of 600,000 IOPS/550,000 IOPS, while the 2TB model has 620,000 IOPS/560,000 IOPS.
Durability for long-term use
The 970 EVO Plus 2TB model has a TBW (Total Bytes Written) of 1,200 TB, compared to 600 TB for the 1TB model, and comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
The latest V-NAND technology and Samsung quality ensure superior endurance and long-lasting performance.
Superior Heat Dissipation Design
Advanced nickel-coated controller and heatspreader allow the device to dissipate heat efficiently.
Dynamic Thermal Guard automatically monitors the drive's operating temperature and maintains optimal temperatures to minimize performance degradation.
Release Date and Price
"970 EVO Plus" 2TB model is scheduled for release at the end of May 2019.
The price is open price, but the market retail price is expected to be around 70,000 JPY.
In the e-sports industry, it has become common for PCs and gaming consoles such as PS4 to be converted from HDD to SSD to increase speed, and the "970 EVO Plus" 2TB model is expected to set a new standard for speed, quality, and capacity.
