Samsung announced the new "Galaxy Watch8" and "Galaxy Watch8 Classic" smartwatches at the "Galaxy Unpacked July 2025" event held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 (Japan time). The watches will go on sale in early August or later.

The "Galaxy Watch8" series adopts the cushion design first used in the "Galaxy Watch Ultra" series. The internal structure has been reexamined, making it 11% thinner than the previous "Galaxy Watch 7" series, making it the thinnest design in the Galaxy Watch series history. The new Dynamic Lug System minimizes the gap between the watch and the skin, making it more comfortable to wear than ever before.
