Cyberpunk 2077 by CD PROJECT RED, the studio behind games such as The witcher 3: wild hunt, is a rpg-shooter hybrid depicting a dystopian future.
The game has been getting a lot of traction since releasing a trailer during the 2018 E3 convention. Whilst already gaining a gathering of fans, to top it all off, the highly acclaimed actor Keanu Reeves has been confirmed to appear as the character Johnny Silverhand.

Japanese dub gameplay reveal
At the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) we were treated to ±20 minute gameplay footage of the Japanese dubbed version of the game. Sadly there was not yet a playable demo available.
The main character will be portrayed by, depending on the gender you pick in your adventure, Chikahiro Kobayashi or Risa Shimizu.
Keanu Reeves’ character will be portrayed by Toshiyuki Morikawa.
The gameplay footage shows V, the main character, join the Voodoo Boys, one of the factions in the game. Here it shows of it’s sci-fi prowess right out of the gate, as the main character allows one of the faction members to upload software to his brain.
Next we get treated to some footage of the open world city, as the main character races a futuristic bike over the highway to a deserted factory-like setting for a quest.
The same bike we saw displayed at outside of the theater at the TGS2019.
Design wise it has a striking resemblance to the bike in the now legendary anime Akira.
The quest ensued on arrival an the player is requested to infiltrate an operation of “the animals”, a rivaling faction.
Here they show off 2 different play-styles, stealth and power, depending on the skill tree you choose for your character.
The stealth approach allows you to hack cameras and cyborg enemies as you move forward in a mission. The Power approach is a more head-on playstyle focusing on advanced gunplay and movement.
The developers emphasize that the player will not be forced to one play style throughout the game and will be able to approach each mission as desired.
The gameplay footage displayed is not yet available online, but for those interested in the development of the game, make sure to check out the official youtube channel.
