They are ready for their matchups, and the finals are about to begin! The Pokémon used by both players in the first round are as follows.

MrYUFUIN

  • Sleeper
  • Airmed
  • Nyorobon

Masanari34 player

  • Haganer
  • Chiltaris
  • Sleeper

The only Pokémon that can be used in this "Pokémon GO" Get & Battle Tournament are those caught at the designated location on the day of the tournament.

MrYUFUIN's high-speed tapping was countered by Masanari34, who tapped at a steady rhythm.
I was surprised to see a sleeper in both Pokémon selections, but was attracted by the strength of the sleepers that were active in the battles.

Masanari34 won the first game.
The third Sleeper defeated MrYUFUIN's Gnorobon with a Normal Move, and although the Gnorobon had been cut down and had almost no energy left, he reduced the third Airmed's energy to zero with an extremely effective Flame Punch.

Start of Round 2!

The Pokémon used by both players in the second round are as follows.

MrYUFUIN

  • Sleeper
  • Chill Taris
  • Airmed

Masanari34

  • Sleeper
  • Skatak
  • Chilteris

The leading Pokémon of both players were Sleepers, as if there were only Sleepers.

MrYUFUIN timed his substitutions well, reducing the damage he received, and he was able to keep Masanari34 at bay, but the compatibility of the Pokémon selected gave Masanari34 the upper hand.

Both games were so heated that I forgot to breathe, and the Pokémon GO battles made me want to watch them all the time even if I wasn't playing Pokémon GO.

Sleeper, aren't you working too hard?

Who won the final battle?

The winner is Masanari34!

Masanari34's Shield (which can be used only twice in each battle), which he used at key points, caught on at every turn, and in the end, the battle was so close that it looked like he had the Goddess of Victory on his side!

Impressions of the "Pokemon GO" Get & Battle Tournament

There are various titles and genres used in e-sports tournaments, but this was the first time a match was held on Pokémon GO.

Pokémon GO is not only simple to use by tapping the screen, but also offers a variety of strategies, and this match showed the excitement of PvP (player-versus-player).

The rule that Pokémon are caught at a specific location on the same day was also innovative, and the competition already started before the game began.

Since it was not known in advance which Pokémon would be used in the match, the game required a great deal of application.

There were some concerns about how this e-sports event sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government would turn out to be, but it turned out to be a "great success.

We look forward to the second Tokyo eSports Festa, as well as the "Pokémon GO" eSports scene in the future.
