Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as Tokyo Metro), which has been actively involved in esports through initiatives such as operating Japan's first esports training gym and signing a sponsorship agreement with the professional esports team REJECT, announced the esports tournament, The 1st TOKYO METRO CUP STREET FIGHTER 6.
The company revealed that the online qualifiers and the grand finals will take place in March 2024.
Tokyo Metro Hosts a Street Fighter 6 Tournament Anyone Can Join!
The newly announced esports tournament, The 1st TOKYO METRO CUP STREET FIGHTER 6, will take place over two days, consisting of the qualifiers and the grand finals.
Up to 128 players in the Student Division and 256 players in the General Division can compete, and the grand finals will be held offline at the JCG Toyosu Studio in Koto Ward, Tokyo.
As the tournament name suggests, the featured title is Capcom's popular fighting game, Street Fighter 6.
The top 3 players from the Student Division and the top 8 players from the General Division who advance from the online qualifiers on Sunday, March 3, 2024, will move on to the offline grand finals on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
The top 3 players in each division will also win amazing prizes, including gaming PCs and gaming neck speakers!
Whether you are confident in your skills or just want to experience tournament play, anyone is welcome to join.
Entry is completely free!
The grand finals will be livestreamed on YouTube, allowing viewers to catch all the action with live commentary from streamers Kiku-nii and Haitani.
The registration window runs from Wednesday, January 10, to Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
