On Sunday, March 9, 2025, local time, Hideo Kojima of Kojima Productions took the stage at "SXSW 2025" being held in Texas, USA.
He announced that the release date for the PlayStation 5 title "DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH (hereafter, Death Stranding 2)," which had been in development for some time, is Thursday, June 26, 2025.

The release date for Kojima Productions' latest title, "Death Stranding 2," has been decided as Thursday, June 26, 2025!
A substantial pre-order trailer, over 10 minutes long, was released.
"Death Stranding 2" depicts 11 months after the birth of the UCA.
In the trailer, in addition to footage that appears to be cutscenes and gameplay, the figure of Ma Dong-seok, an actor active in South Korea, also appeared!?
