Square Enix Co., Ltd. announced the release of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
This is a remake of Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past (hereafter, DQ7), which was released in 2000, with all graphics, story, and systems rebuilt from the ground up.
Pre-orders began on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

This is a remake of DQ7, with not only the graphics but also the story, battles, side quests, and systems all rebuilt from the ground up. It's rendered in a new 3D CG art style with a warm, doll-like look, which the developers are calling the doll look.
