D3 Publisher, Inc. announced that it has set the release date for “Earth Defense Force 6.2: Invaders from Another World,” a 3D action shooter game exclusively for the PlayStation 5 (hereinafter “PS5”) , for Thursday, March 18, 2027.
In addition, pre-orders are now being accepted on the PlayStation Store (hereinafter referred to as the PS Store).

Tough enemies from the "Earth Defense Force 6" DLC are joining the fray! The latest installment boasts the largest number of missions in the series

This latest title is a revamped and enhanced version of " Earth Defense Force 6," which has attracted over 1 million players worldwide since its 2022 release, featuring numerous new elements.
Optimized specifically for the PS5’s specs, the game has been enhanced with a variety of improvements—including visual upgrades—and expanded content.

The biggest highlight is that the number of enemies has nearly doubled compared to the previous installment.
The variety of invading creatures — such asants, bees, and spiders —has been significantly expanded, creating an experience designed to deliver the series’ greatest sense of “overwhelming despair” and the “thrill of defeating massive, countless enemies.”

Based on “Earth Defense Force 6,” more than half of the included missions have been revamped, and powerful enemies that previously appeared only in the previous game’s DLC now appear in the main story.
Furthermore, completely new missions have been added, bringing the total number of missions to the largest in the series.

A series first! A “weapon customization feature” that lets you upgrade your weapons to suit your preferences.

This title introduces the series’ first-ever weapon customization feature.
You can obtain enhancement components from new item boxes that appear when you defeat enemies, allowing you to freely upgrade your weapons’ performance to suit your preferences.

For example, you can apply custom ammunition to give an assault rifle a burning effect, or equip a rocket launcher with a freezing effect by loading it with rocket rounds—allowing you to enjoy modifications tailored to your tactics.

A playable demo will also be available at the “Tokyo Game Show 2026”

A hands-on demo area for this title is available at the D3 Publisher booth (Hall 5, 05-C03) at the " Tokyo Game Show 2026," which is being held at Makuhari Messe through Monday, September 21, 2026 (a national holiday).
At the venue, visitors can be among the first to experience the series’ largest-ever, overwhelming horde of enemies.
