The release date for "FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves" has been officially set for Thursday, April 24, 2025.
The mere announcement of the date for the "Fatal Fury" series' latest work, which we've been waiting for, is great news. Furthermore, the "SPECIAL EDITION," which bundles the digital version of the main game and Season Pass 1, is now available for pre-order across various platforms!

The product trailer, released alongside the date announcement, revealed that a total of 22 characters are confirmed to join the roster: 17 in the main game and 5 additional characters in Season Pass 1. Currently, 10 characters have been revealed, including Billy Kane, who appears as a cool older man.

Mai Shiranui is finally confirmed to join "FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves"! The Japanese voice actress is the familiar Ami Koshimizu, and the English voice actress will be Rebecca Rose!
Since no legacy characters other than Terry appeared in the previous work, "Garou: Mark of the Wolves," this marks a triumphant return to the series for Mai!
Mai Shiranui is a character who needs no introduction, making her debut in "Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle" as the series' first female playable character.
Since then, she has appeared in a number of SNK titles, such as the "Fatal Fury" series, the "KOF" series, "SNK GALS' FIGHTERS," and "SNK HEROINES Tag Team Frenzy." She has also made guest appearances in works by many other manufacturers.
It is also well-known that her participation in "Street Fighter 6" by CAPCOM was recently decided alongside Terry Bogard, another flagship character of SNK.
Coupled with her extremely impactful character design, she is a popular character, though for kids during the "Fatal Fury 2" era, playing as her in the arcade was a little embarrassing.
That is why, even though many other SNK characters appear in "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" (where Terry Bogard participates), the fact that Mai Shiranui does not appear became a hot topic.
As for Mai Shiranui, her costume design has been refreshed for this title! She will appear in a new look!
The exposure is considerably reduced in her Rider-style outfit scattered with Japanese patterns, meaning kids can now play as her without worry. She might even be able to appear in Smash Bros.!

With Mai Shiranui, the count of announced participating characters is now 11. Since 17 characters are planned for the main game, 6 characters remain.
