Update Ver. 4.0.0 for "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" adds support for new features such as " 8-player gameplay on a single console " and " Camera Mode " when playing on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Several changes have also been made to the race mechanics.
Support for up to 8 players on a single console
With a single Nintendo Switch 2 console and enough controllers for the number of players, you can split the screen and play with up to 8 people simultaneously.
This feature is ideal for gatherings with family or parties where a large group comes together to play.
"Camera Play" Support via a Separately Sold USB Camera

By connecting a separately sold USB camera, such as the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera, to the Nintendo Switch 2 console, you can enjoy “ Camera Play.”
When using the camera while playing with a group, the players’ faces appear on the game screen.
Even when playing online with friends who are far away, you can race or battle using “Camera Play” while chatting in-game.
Supports high-definition video and reduced loading times
The game is compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 display and high-resolution TVs, allowing you to enjoy sharper visuals than ever before.
Load times before races start have also been reduced, enabling smoother matches.
In addition, several other changes have been made, such as the fact that you won’t slow down when entering dirt sections while using Teresa to become invisible.
