If no other players join within a certain period after sending the SOS Flare, an NPC Support Hunter will rush to your aid. During multiplayer initiated by an SOS Flare, you can change the maximum number of participants and whether a Support Hunter can join via the Quest Offset Attacks settings, with options for "Players Only" and "Support Hunter Only."
