Takechiyo Tokugawa (main character)
Tokugawa Takechiyo is the grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu, who founded the Edo shogunate. As a successor, he was given the childhood name Takechiyo, the same as Ieyasu. However, since he could see guardian spirits from an early age and was constantly drawing pictures of them, many in the family thought that his younger brother Kunimatsu, a brilliant man, would be the next shogun. Himiko CV: Taho Tsuchiya
Himiko is an ancient queen who is said to have possessed mystical powers. She became the king of the evil kingdom, replacing a male king who had spent his life in war. She is said to have been born with the gift of Kido, a kind of witchcraft, and led her people. Her name can be found in "Gishiwajinden," a part of the Chinese history book "Sangokushi," but her origins are still a mystery.
Tokugawa Kunimatsu CV: Hongo Kanata
Tokugawa Kunimatsu is the grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu, who founded the Edo shogunate, and younger brother of Takechiyo. Because of his excellence from an early age, he was favored by his parents and considered by many in the family to be the next shogun. One day, however, Ieyasu, who had become a great courtier, made it clear that the order of the eldest son was to be the first in line, and Kunimatsu's path to becoming shogun was suddenly blocked.
