Finally landed in Japan! "Xbox Cloud Gaming" launches October 1, 2021 for Game Pass Ultimate members

Xbox Cloud Gaming, Microsoft's cloud gaming service, will launch in Japan on October 1, 2021, it was announced today at the Tokyo Game Show 2021 Online (TGS2021). The service will be available in Japan from October 1, 2021.

What is "Xbox Cloud Gaming"?

Xbox Cloud Gaming" was announced in October 2018 as "project xCloud" and will integrate "Xbox Game Pass" and "Project xCloud" to be launched in September 2020. In September 2020, we officially released the Android version for "Xbox Game Pass Ultimate" members in 22 countries around the world.
The release for Japan was scheduled for 2020, but it was announced at TGS2020 last year that the release would be postponed to 2021.

In April of this year, the "Project xCloud" service was renamed "Xbox Cloud Gaming" and launched not only for Android, but also for Windows 10 and iOS.
In Japan, the Android version was offered as a beta test under the name "Project xCloud," but Japan was not an official service at that time.

The launch of the service in 2021 was postponed to 2021, and after much anticipation, Kareem Choudhry, the head of Xbox Cloud Gaming, announced at TGS2021 that the service will finally be available from October 1, 2021.
