Hamada Sake Brewery x The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Kyoto
The explosive outbreak of new coronavirus infection has passed, and the number of tourists from Japan and abroad continues to increase. In this context, Hamada Shuzo, a Kagoshima sake brewery founded in 1868, has collaborated with THE BAR at the Royal Park Hotel Iconic Kyoto, a hotel in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, to create a Japanese-style cocktail collaboration! On April 1 (Mon.), 2024, we started serving three cocktails made with authentic sweet potato shochu " DAIYAME " and botanical barley shochu " CHILL GREEN spicy & citrus ".
The collaboration cocktail recipes were created by Kenta Komuro, bartender at "THE BAR". The new cocktails will be served from Kyoto, the center of Japanese traditions, as "Shochu Cocktails Healing with Aroma" featuring Hamada Syuzo.
We have created a cocktail recipe for DAIYAME and CHILL GREEN while searching for "how to make the most of the characteristic aroma". This cocktail is perfect for a drink before returning to your room after a day of sightseeing in Kyoto or when you want to relax after a long day of work. Please feel free to stop by.
Ikoi
The meaning of "Daiyame", "to heal tiredness by having a drink in the evening", is put into this cocktail. The cocktail name is "Ikoi. The name of the cocktail is "rest", which means "to rest the body and mind", and we used Japanese black tea, which has a relaxing effect, to add a touch of Kyoto flavor. The cherry blossom aroma and pale pink color create a sense of comfort both visually and in terms of taste. The edge of the glass is decorated with olive and tree buds to represent lychee, a metaphor for the smell of daiyame. Please enjoy a moment to heal your daily fatigue.
SARA
)
This cocktail is a combination of shochu and sake (sake is "Tsukitsukatsura" from Fushimi, Kyoto), which is something that has never been done before. The name "Sara" means "new" in Kyoto dialect, inspired by the color of the flower of the sakura tree (pale yellow). The name is easy for foreign customers to pronounce. By mixing the world-recognized "unexplored aroma" of daisy with the good old depth of sake, we have created a unique cocktail with a sense of unity. The item that joins the two together is a spring-like kumquat with a refreshing sweetness.
Samidori
"Midori"
The word "early green" means young leaves or young grass. The botanical barley shochu "Chiru Green" is a combination of "Chiru" (calm and relaxing) and "Green" (natural) to create the image of a cocktail color. Kyoto Gin" and Sencha (green tea) are used to create a Kyoto-like atmosphere. We named the cocktail "Early Green" because we felt the unknown potential of shochu cocktails, like young leaves that are about to grow. We hope you will enjoy the harmony of shochu and Kyoto's originality.
The authentic sweet potato shochu " DAIYAME " with its gorgeous lychee-like aroma and the botanical barley shochu " CHILL GREEN spicy & citrus " with its citrusy aroma and stimulating taste. It is actually very easy to drink and a must-try for young people.
The collaboration cocktails, available at " The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Kyoto " from April 1, 2024 (Monday), are priced at 1,391 yen each (including consumption tax and service charge). When you travel to Kyoto, please stay at "The Royal Park Hotel" and enjoy a relaxing evening with a cocktail.
