We were also invited to the new product trial event and experienced the actual device up close and personal.

The "LCD-GDU271JLAQD," which is celebrating I-O DATA's 50th anniversary, is a high-end model that brings together all of I-O DATA's past efforts. Let's start with the basic specs.
27-inch 4K/180Hz to FHD/360Hz with 0.5ms response time

The 27-inch panel uses the IPS method (HFS) with a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees vertically and horizontally. It is equipped with a Dual Frame Rate function that allows switching between a 3,840 x 2,160 (4K) resolution at a refresh rate of 180 Hz or a 1,920 x 1,080 (FHD) resolution at a refresh rate of 360 Hz. It has a 0.5ms (GTG) response time and is equipped with two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort port.

The basic specs are as you can see, but one of the features that the product manager is most keen on is the "Mini LED".
Mini LEDs" for superior brightness and darkness expression

In recent years, we often hear the name "Mini LED" used in high-end gaming monitors. This refers to the backlight system behind the panel. In entry-level models, LEDs are placed only at the edges of the screen, and the entire screen is illuminated by the reflected light of the LEDs.
On the other hand, the Mini LED backlight system used in the LCD-GDU271JLAQD directly illuminates the screen by arranging a large number of small LED lights right behind the screen, allowing for more detailed brightness and darkness expression. In addition, this model supports "2304ZONE" local dimming, which can control a single panel by dividing it into 2,304 zones.

One disadvantage is that the main unit is very thick and hot. In order to secure airflow and space for the Mini LEDs, the main body is quite thick and bulky. The size is approximately 614 x 66 x 372 mm (W x D x H) without the stand and not including the protruding parts.

Also, to light a large number of Mini LEDs, it requires a lot of power. The AC adapter is also impressive to support the power consumption of 29.8W at normal operation and 120W at maximum. As you can see, it is also more compact than the ROG Phone 8 (height 163.8mm x width 76.8mm), which is the author's favorite phone.
However, it is bearable to support such high specs.
GigaCrysta S Series to be compatible with the Good Quality First-Come, First-Serve Exchange Service

I-O DATA offers the peace of mind typical of a Japanese manufacturer, including a no-bright spot warranty and customer support. In addition, the flagship GigaCrysta S series has introduced a new service called "GigaCrysta First-Come, First-Serve Replacement Service.
If a product malfunctions during the warranty period, the customer can apply for the service using a dedicated form, and a replacement product will be delivered to the customer's home first. The replacement is completed by handing over the defective product to a separately arranged courier.
If the defective product has to be delivered first, there will be a period of time when the monitor cannot be used, and it is also difficult just to prepare a cardboard box that can hold a large gaming monitor. This is a complete support system that solves such consumer concerns in one fell swoop.
