Pokémon Whoosh! Releasing July 30! A New Kind of Board Game Where You Throw Cards to Catch Pokémon

The Pokémon Company will release the new Pokémon board game, Pokémon Whoosh!, on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
This is the fourth installment in a new style of Pokémon board game where you flick cards to catch Pokémon.
This product is available only in Japan.

Pokémon Whoosh! is a new kind of board game where you flick cards to catch Pokémon!
Following Pokémon Babanuki, Pokémon Babanuki Super High Tension, and Pokémon Taruka, this is the fourth installment in the Pokémon board game series.

How to Play Pokémon Whoosh!: Feel Like a Pokémon Trainer by Throwing Poké Ball Cards

Pokémon Whoosh! features Pokémon cards and Poké Ball cards.
Since the Pokémon cards feature numbers, flick the Poké Ball cards right at those numbers!
If the thrown Poké Ball covers all the numbers on the Pokémon card, you successfully catch the Pokémon.

The sum of the numbers on the Pokémon cards you catch is your score.
The person with the highest score wins!

Various Card Designs Available! Some Pokémon and Poké Balls Come with Special Effects

There are various card designs in Pokémon Whoosh!!
Certain Pokémon activate effects when caught or brought into play.
For example, catching Greninja allows you to throw a Poké Ball once more.
Take advantage of Pokémon effects to push the game in your favor!

Furthermore, there are also variations of Poké Ball cards.
Using the Net Ball allows you to easily catch Pokémon marked with the "Water" symbol, with various effects depending on the ball!

• Ultra Ball: Catches a Pokémon if it overlaps even slightly with a card featuring "2"!
• Net Ball: Catches a Pokémon if it overlaps even slightly with a card featuring "Bug" and "Water" marks!
• Dream Ball: Catches a Pokémon if it overlaps even slightly with a card featuring a "Sleep condition" mark!

By utilizing card effects, you can even aim for a dramatic comeback!
