ASUS has announced the domestic release of the gaming headset “ROG Kithara” from its gaming brand Republic of Gamers (ROG) in Japan.
It will be launched via crowdfunding on GREEN FUNDING starting Thursday, February 19, 2026.
ROG Next-generation Gaming Headset “ROG Kithara” Confirmed for Release!
The 'ROG Kithara' is a gaming headset equipped with custom-tuned 100mm HIFIMAN planar magnetic drivers developed exclusively for ROG.
By evenly driving the entire diaphragm, the planar magnetic design suppresses unwanted resonance, delivering clean and highly accurate sound.
Bass is deep and smooth, while highs remain crisp and extended, allowing even subtle audio cues such as gunfire and footsteps to be reproduced with precision.
Open-back design
Thanks to its open-back design, sound waves can pass through naturally, reducing unwanted reflections and resonance.
This minimizes the muddiness often associated with closed-back headsets and delivers a spacious, airy soundstage with excellent balance across low, mid, and high frequencies.
The left and right drivers are precisely matched in frequency response, ensuring accurate stereo imaging and outstanding sound separation.
Full-band MEMS boom microphone
A full-band MEMS boom microphone is built in.
By separating audio and microphone signal paths, crosstalk is reduced and a high SNR is achieved.
This enables clear, natural voice chat while effectively suppressing background noise.
Wide device compatibility
The headset comes with interchangeable plugs using a high-quality OFC balanced cable, supporting 4.4mm balanced connections as well as 3.5mm and 6.3mm unbalanced connections.
It can be used with a wide range of devices, including DACs, amplifiers, PCs, and game consoles.
A USB Type-C to dual 3.5mm adapter is also included, allowing for quick and easy connection to laptops and smartphones.
Designed for comfort and durability
Featuring a metal frame and reinforced hinge structure, the headset offers excellent durability.
An 8-step adjustable headband and low-rebound ear pads ensure comfort even during long gaming sessions.
Both leatherette + fabric and velour ear cushions are included, allowing users to customize the fit to their preference.
The “ROG Kithara” will be available via crowdfunding on GREEN FUNDING starting Thursday, February 19, 2026.
The planned retail price is ¥53,980 (tax included).
