The City Hunter Remake Is Out After 35 Years! Physical Limited Edition with Luxurious Bonuses Also Available

SUNSOFT, the game brand of SUNCORPORATION, released the remake of City Hunter on Thursday, February 26, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam.
Additionally, the physical limited edition COLLECTOR'S BOX, which includes luxurious bonuses, was also released.

The City Hunter Remake Is Now Available! Launch Trailer Released

The City Hunter remake was released on Thursday, February 26, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam!
A launch trailer was released to coincide with the launch.

Featuring the Original Mode and Two New Modes From Back in the Day!

City Hunter is the only official game from SUNSOFT, the game brand of SUNCORPORATION, originally released for the PC Engine in 1990.
In the City Hunter remake, two new modes were introduced in addition to the Original Mode, as follows:

• Original Mode: A mode that faithfully reproduces the gameplay feel of 1990
• Enhanced Mode: A mode where the playability of the original version has been refined to modern standards
• Hard Mode: A mode based on the playability of the Enhanced Mode, with adjustments to enemy placement and other elements

Also, the theme song for the anime version of City Hunter, the TM NETWORK masterpiece "Get Wild," is implemented in the game!
Furthermore, it features thoroughly detailed settings and an extensive collection, including:

• Equipped with "Save" and "Rewind" functions to play this title comfortably.
• Visual settings are possible, allowing customization with a "CRT filter" or your preferred aspect ratio.
• Equipped with a "3D Archive" where you can view the original packaging and manual from 360 degrees.
• A "Gallery" containing precious original art and anime images is implemented.

The physical limited edition COLLECTOR'S BOX, packed with the world of City Hunter and including luxurious bonuses, was also released on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
