Nintendo has launched Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics, a new service for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, starting February 17, 2026. You can play 7 titles, including Galactic Pinball and 3-D Tetris.
Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics Now Available!
The Virtual Boy is a game console released by Nintendo in 1995 that featured a gaming experience using 3D images with depth. To play Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics, you will need the following:
- One of two types of dedicated hardware sold separately
- An account with an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription
- Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch
To play the Virtual Boy for Nintendo Switch 2/Nintendo Switch, open the top lid and set the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console inside.
For the Virtual Boy (Cardboard Model) for Nintendo Switch 2/Nintendo Switch, you can play by inserting the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch, attaching the Joy-Con 2 or Joy-Con, and holding it with both hands.
The dedicated hardware is currently on sale at the My Nintendo Store and Nintendo TOKYO / OSAKA / KYOTO / FUKUOKA. As a limited-quantity bonus, a poster recreating the original Virtual Boy package design is included.

Interpupillary Distance Adjustment and Screen Size Adjustment
Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics is equipped with Interpupillary Distance Adjustment and Screen Size Adjustment features. Pressing and holding the R stick allows for Interpupillary Distance Adjustment, and pressing the X button further enables Screen Size Adjustment. These functions are useful when the image appears misaligned or when it is difficult to perceive the 3D effect.
Automatic Pause Feature
Nintendo TopicsThe service includes an Automatic Pause Feature that pauses the game after an appropriate amount of time. You can select ON / OFF when launching each title.
Part of Virtual Boy Tsushin Released!
Part of the game magazine Virtual Boy Tsushin, published by the Famitsu editorial department in August 1995, has been released. In addition to content regarding the original Virtual Boy hardware, it also features information on the titles that have launched.
