ASUS' gaming brand "Republic of Gamers (ROG)
The scale of ROG's presence at the annual Tokyo Game Show 2022, where the ROG brand was exhibited independently for the first time, is only expected to grow.
ROG is also developing the "ROG Phone" series of smartphones, and the ROG Phone 6, which we were able to experience at TGS2022, has been officially announced in Japan!

The main unit is included in the box.
However, it is the main unit that we are interested in.
Let's take a look at the exterior!
Equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, the ROG Phone 6 boasts an industry-leading refresh rate of 165Hz.
The display does not feature a notch or punch hole, as you will see later when you turn it on.
It continues from the previous model with a three-lens camera.
There is a very nice panel, but since it is a gaming smartphone, it shines.
The volume control and power button are on the right side of the device.
The buttons are relatively centered due to the large screen.
Actually, there is a hidden function here, but we will get to that later.
On the left side, there is a USB Type-C port and a SIM card slot.
This USB port is very convenient when you hold the device horizontally.
There is nothing on the upper side.
On the bottom side, there is a 3.5mm stereo mini jack and a USB Type-C port.
As is customary for ROG Phone, the two USB Type-C ports allow you to hold the smartphone horizontally or vertically without the charging cable getting in the way.

First of all, I took a picture of the ROG Phone 6 camera taking a picture.
How well it performs...
Very clean, with clear outlines!
Three lenses allow for 0.6x to 8x magnification.
Videos can be shot in HD, FHD, 4K at 30/60 fps and 8K at 24 fps.

The included phone case is solid, so there seems to be no need to purchase a separate case for now.
The built-in "Armoury Crate" app allows you to set the temperature and usage status of the device, as well as various settings to get the most out of the ROG Phone 6.
AirTriggers is a very useful feature when playing games.
Ultrasonic buttons are mounted on both ends of the right side of the device, allowing for all kinds of operations depending on the settings.

AirTriggers are way too useful!
Although they do not have the physical feel of a controller, they vibrate when they detect an input, allowing for sensory control.
This allows you to concentrate on character control and weapon switching on the display side.
Even when held horizontally, the USB cable extends from the bottom, so it doesn't get in the way and is very comfortable!

Here are the console screens before and after playing NEW STATE MOBILE at 144Hz refresh rate and the highest setting of Ultra.
The CPU and GPU temperatures rose about 6 and 9 degrees Celsius, respectively, and as one would expect, they feel warm to the touch.
However, I didn't feel any processing slowdowns or heaviness during gameplay , and I was able to play comfortably all the way to the end!
The ROG Phone 6 goes on sale Friday, October 7, 2022!
