These days, we have to check the temperature every day to decide what to wear.
I think many people love the fall and winter seasons because they can enjoy fashionable clothes.
And for this fall and winter... we visited ASUS's "2024 Fall/Winter New Monitor Product Showcase"!
From "ProArt" for Creators

ASUS's "2024 Fall/Winter New Monitor Product Showcase" was held in October 2024.
Although they aren't releasing fluffy monitors for winter, many noteworthy products will be released from October to November 2024!
ProArt Display PA34VCNV

First up, from ASUS's "ProArt" brand for creators, is the 34.1-inch widescreen LCD monitor, "ProArt Display PA34VCNV."
It has a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 and uses an IPS panel.
The USB-C port supports a power supply of as much as 96W, which is perfect for charging laptops.

The "ProArt Display PA34VCNV" is a widescreen monitor with a slight curve of 3800R.
While it doesn't offer the same level of immersion as a gaming monitor, a display that's too curved is a drawback for creators, so this seems to be a perfect compromise.

The "ProArt Display PA34VCNV" is already on sale.
The estimated market price is 98,820 yen (tax included).
ProArt Display PA32UCXR

Next is the 32-inch widescreen "ProArt Display PA32UCXR" with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 (4K).
It is HDR 1400 certified and has a peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits.

The plates that can be extended on both sides and the top help you concentrate on your work and reduce the negative effects of indoor lighting on creative work.

And one of the features of the "ProArt Display PA32UCXR" is the self-calibration function.

Pull out the component installed on the bottom left of the screen to the display, and it's ready.

The built-in motorized flip colorimeter automatically calibrates the monitor.
It can be run manually or scheduled to run periodically.
The "ProArt Display PA32UCXR" is already on sale.
The estimated market price is 548,820 yen (tax included), which is for professionals...!
ProArt Display 5K PA27JCV

This is the "ProArt Display 5K PA27JCV," a monitor with a 5,120 x 2,880 (5K) resolution that ensures a wide workspace.
Despite being a 27-inch monitor, it boasts a 5K resolution, so the visual quality is on a completely different level.

The "ProArt Display 5K PA27JCV," which has improved resolution and peak brightness compared to its previous model, the "ProArt Display PA279CRV," is scheduled to be announced in November 2024!
Foldable Monitors and Color Variation Models from "ASUS" Arrive!
ASUS ZenScreen Fold OLED MQ17QH

This is the world's first foldable OLED portable monitor, the "ASUS ZenScreen Fold OLED MQ17QH."
I think foldable smartphones are gradually gaining market share, so if a smartphone can fold, a monitor can fold too!

It can be folded completely inward.
With a resolution of 2,560 x 1,920 and a weight of 1.17 kg, it has more than enough performance for a portable monitor.
Details are scheduled to be announced in November 2024!
VU249CFE / VU279CFE

These are ASUS's new entry-level models, the "VU249CFE" and "VU279CFE."

They have basic specs with a 27-inch screen, 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, and 100Hz refresh rate, but they come in four color variations.

The color variations are four in total as follows:
- Quiet Blue
- Green Grey
- Oat Milk
- Rose Clay
The simple port configuration of HDMI 1.4, USB-C (DP Alt Mode/15W power supply), and an earphone jack also meets user needs well.
The release date is undecided, but the estimated market prices are 21,420 yen (tax included) for the "VU249CFE" and 25,020 yen (tax included) for the "VU279CFE."
Performance-Focused Gaming Monitors from the "ROG" Brand

Thanks for waiting!
Many new gaming monitors are also coming out from the ROG, or "Republic of Gamers," brand.
ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP

The "ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP" is a high-end gaming monitor that supports a maximum refresh rate of 480Hz while having a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 (QHD).

On the back is the ROG brand slogan, "FOR THOSE WHO DARE."
The transparent body gives it a retro feel.

This also has a light-up ROG logo that looks like dots.
The "ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP" has such high specs that when I was being briefed, I even let out the honest thought, "At this point, I don't even know if I can tell the difference anymore (lol)."
It is scheduled to be released in November 2024, with an estimated market price of 157,320 yen (tax included).
ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP

The "ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP" is a high-performance gaming monitor with a maximum of 4K/240Hz, but it has a little secret.

It's a dual-mode monitor that switches to FHD/480Hz when you turn on Frame Rate Boost!
You can use the high resolution 4K for MOBAs and MMORPGs, and the super smooth 480Hz for shooters and action games.
You can use one monitor for different purposes!

The "ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP" is scheduled to be released in November 2024.
The estimated market price is 213,120 yen (tax included).
ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM

The "ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM" is a model that is similar to the previous "ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP" but without the dual mode.
The maximum refresh rate is 240Hz for both 4K and FHD.
The "ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM" is now on sale for an estimated market price of 196,920 yen (tax included)!
Unless you have very specific needs, this model might be a good choice...?
ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG

The "ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG" uses a white OLED.
It has a well-balanced performance with a QHD resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz, and it uses a glossy panel, which is rare for a gaming monitor.

By the way, many ROG gaming monitors have a smartphone stand feature on the stand.
...So, I took a picture with my beloved ROG Phone 8.
It is scheduled to be released on Friday, October 11, 2024, with an estimated market price of 109,620 yen (tax included).
ROG Strix XG27UCG / ROG Strix XG27UCG-W

The "ROG Strix XG27UCG" is also a dual-mode monitor that can switch between 4K/160Hz and FHD/320Hz.

It comes in two colors, including the popular white model, and is scheduled to be released in November 2024!
The estimated market price is 81,720 yen (tax included).
ROG Strix XG259CS

The "ROG Strix XG259CS" is an entry-level model with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 (FHD) and a maximum refresh rate of 180Hz.
While you might want a model with a bit more power if you're using a PC or next-gen console, it's an excellent value as a secondary monitor because it's so inexpensive.
It is scheduled to be released on Friday, October 11, 2024, with an estimated market price of 27,720 yen (tax included).
We Also Got to Try the "AirVision M1 Glasses"!

Is this a next-gen monitor too?
We got another chance to experience the "AirVision M1 Glasses," AR glasses currently being developed by ASUS that were also exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2024.
Here's a quick photo report!
Saiga NAKThey feel no different from normal glasses when you wear them.
There's a sensor on the temple.
Saiga NAKOh, I can see it!
Saiga NAKYou can adjust the distance between you and the screen and the interpupillary distance from the dedicated software.
Saiga NAKThe screen is right here! Right here!!
Saiga NAKYou can switch modes by tapping the sensor on the left side.
Saiga NAKAnd when you attach the accessory...
Saiga NAKIt transforms into a pair of sunglasses!
Since it reduces the amount of light that comes in, it's recommended to wear them indoors if you want to focus on the screen.
Since it's a magnet, it's easy to put on and take off!
While details such as the release date have not yet been revealed, it worked well despite being a prototype, so I'm guessing that it won't be too far in the future...?
Let's have high expectations for these glasses as a monitor of the future that will allow us to game and work in any position!
