Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd. announced today that it will hold Tokyo Metro's first e-sports tournament, " Elementary School Duo Tournament in Tokyo FEATURING FORTNITE," online.
Online tournament for parents and children living in Tokyo
The "Elementary School Duo Tournament in Tokyo FEATURING FORTNITE" is an online tournament for elementary school parents and their children using Epic Games' popular battle royale game " Fortnite ".
This will be the first e-sports tournament hosted by Tokyo Metro, and will be managed by Toppan Printing Co. and Aichi eSports Coalition.
Tokyo Metro is committed to " Co-creating Tokyo's Attractiveness and Vitality Tokyo Metro has been focusing on the e-sports business, including the opening of an e-sports gym, a training facility dedicated to e-sports, at Akabane-Iwabuchi Station in June 2021.
The company has been preparing to hold an e-sports tournament, and this will be the first time it will be held under the auspices of the event.
The "Elementary School Duo Tournament in Tokyo FEATURING FORTNITE" will be held online so that parents and children can participate and have fun together, as the spread of the new coronavirus has limited opportunities for parents and children to enjoy outdoor leisure activities and travel together.
It is expected to be a tournament where parents and children can reconfirm their bond through e-sports, which has been attracting attention as a communication tool.
The event will be broadcast on the FEATURING FORTNITE YouTube channel, and the event MC will be Mr. Yoshizumi Ashizawa(@ kasumi_ashizawa )
Mr. Tompi is also a skilled player and a licensed teacher with a wide range of knowledge, and is known for his easy-to-understand play-by-play commentary. (@tonpiava )
Mr. Shinpei S (@shinpeiSSR), a streamer who mainly plays Fortnite and continues to increase his fan base with his cheerful and lovable character, will appear as a commentator to liven up the tournament.

The "Elementary School Duo Competition in Tokyo FEATURING FORTNITE" is scheduled to be held online on Sunday, August 22, 2021, from 13:00 to 17:30.
The number of participants is limited to 90 pairs of elementary school students and their parents (180 people), and if there are too many applicants, those living in Tokyo will be given priority in the lottery.
If there are too many applicants, priority will be given to those living in Tokyo by lottery.
The entry fee is free of charge, and entries are currently being accepted via the event entry form. The application period is until 23:59 on August 2, 2021 (Monday ).
Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each group (1st to 3rd place), so parents and children are encouraged to consider participating in order to achieve high rankings.
