Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. and A24 announced that a film adaptation of the dark fantasy action RPG "ELDEN RING" has been decided.
Alex Garland, known for "Civil War," will be in charge of the script and direction.

The launch of a film project for the action RPG "ELDEN RING," which has achieved over 30 million units shipped worldwide, has been announced.
"ELDEN RING" is an action RPG whose world was built by Hidetaka Miyazaki of FromSoftware and author George R.R. Martin, known for his representative works such as the fantasy novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire."
Players can enjoy a high degree of freedom in adventure set in a vast world. A spin-off title, "ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN," was also announced to be released worldwide on Friday, May 30, 2025.
Alex Garland, known for films such as "Ex Machina" and "Civil War," will serve as director and screenwriter for this project.
The project will be launched with producers Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich of DNA Films, and George R.R. Martin and Vince Gerardis.
A24, known for "Midsommar" and "Civil War," will be responsible for the production.
